As a firm centered in the Mountain West states but with a Washington. D.C. office, Holland & Hart is well positioned to assist clients in a wide range of regulatory and legislative matters. Holland & Hart’s natural resources clients have long relied on the firm to help solve complex matters involving federal agencies, the Congress and state agencies and legislatures. Holland & Hart lawyers routinely deal with top officials at the Department of Interior, Agriculture, Energy and EPA. Our work before the federal agencies covers all areas of practice including rulemaking, obtaining funding, and dispute resolution.
We interface with all major Congressional committees and sub-committees that have an impact on our clients’ interests. We have successfully pursued Congressional legislation. Within the last three years lawyers at Holland & Hart were lead lobbyists in three successful Congressional efforts, obtaining passage of legislation critical to the western coal industry, the soda ash industry and a group of small oil refiners. We are currently involved in a Congressional legislative effort on behalf of a group of coal clients.
On the state legislative front we have active legislative lobbying practices in New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. We have excellent relations with state agencies in all states in which we practice.
We provide a full range of regulatory and lobbying services. We follow legislation on a day-to-day basis, monitor developments, appear and testify before committees and contact individual legislators. We have organized and lead teams of lawyers and lobbyists in passing or opposing legislation. |
